Conjuring Dusk
Back in March I was assisting in Gulf Photo Plus, and part of the on-location shooting was along the shoreline of Al Qasr Hotel in Dubai. It’s one of the tried-and-true photos that I have always loved to take myself, and when I had the chance I jumped on it and started taking photos, along with other aspiring photographers was a great part of the learning experience.
Conquest
Our little planet is amusing, isn’t it?
This is actually the Dead Sea, from Jordan’s side of the world. The silhouette beneath the sun are mountains.
It’s a panorama of 8 vertical shots taken in RAW. 5 different exposures were produced, all stitched together, and used HDR software to create the HDR. I then used =mental3pal‘s excellent tutorial: [link] to create the little planet, and vignette added in Lightroom.
Sunset Hue
HDR of the Dead Sea.
It felt amazing to be on the lowest point on the planet – not to mention the site of a great religious miracle.
One shot in RAW converted into 5 exposures. I tried my best to replicate what I actually saw, so I toned down the typical-HDR vibrancy considerably. Still I suppose, HDR is an HDR.
I should probably start using ND filters.
